Perhaps this is why Modern Salon Magazine recognized the trend setting salon and its owner, Jackie Olivencia (Jackie O), as a finalist for Salon-of-the-Year honors shortly after its opening almost fifteen years ago….and the accolades have just kept rolling in. Most recently, the Messenger Post Newspaper exclaimed the salon is, “...A Cut Above the Rest!”

The acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree, and in Jackie O’s case, it is clear that the daughter of well regarded salon owners would learn first hand of the in’s & out’s of hair design as well as how to run a successful salon. Little did she know that this early education would later set the stage for her own success in the industry, attracting customers from both far and wide, including interested parties from the entertainment & fashion industries.

After obtaining her license at 18 years of age, recognition would come quickly to the rising star hair cutter. Her innate talent would lead to Jackie O’s work being published in industry trend setters Styles and Stylist and Passion Magazine, including coverage that would ultimately run in over 80 countries.

Olivencia’s ongoing thirst for industry knowledge would pay her in spades as the salon & spa owner and industry dynamo would develop powerful industry relationships en route to her becoming a nationally recognized platform artist. To this day, the internationally acclaimed salon and spa owner continues to travel far and wide as she educates herself and staff on changing styles and cutting edge beautification & rejuvenation techniques.

As the years began to pass, Distingue’s reputation for cutting edge work would attract leading players from both the entertainment and fashion worlds alike. It is not uncommon to find Olivencia overseeing all hair and make up applications on the set of a fashion designer shoot as she recently did in NYC for fashion product lines. Yet days later Olivencia could be seen on the set of an advertising shoot for a leading consumer product/service entity. Whether if be an entertainer interested in her world class cut and color prowess or a CEO who wants to shore-up their own front stage presentation for a national on-air interview, Olivencia and her capable staff are consistently called upon to do what they do best - whether it be in town or out. Most recently, Olivencia and select staff were requested on site (by request) at one of America’s top state dinners to do what they do best – to beautify celebrity guests attending the important Gala event & fund raiser.

Of course, Olivencia always finds time for her first business love - meeting the needs of the valued customers at Distingue - whether it be personally attending to those in need of an afternoon of relaxation at the salon or a young, growing family who frequent the salon for some of the same.
